I have been involved with this ground-breaking
Swedish project since it began in 2017.
Under the inspirational leadership of Eva von Hofsten,
a programme was put together to introduce the nation to theatre for audiences with complex needs.
Shows were commissioned from Oily Cart Theatre Company (Stranden, directed by Tim Webb) and Flute Theatre Company (Perikles, directed by Kelly Hunter).
My task was to create an in-service training programme for teachers to develop their skills in classroom story-telling, (including working in-role) and create teaching packs to accompany the shows.
I worked alongside teachers and students, delivered lecture/workshops at the University of Gavle and worked in collaboration with the Folkteatern Gavleborg.
Work continues to disseminate this vision across Sweden.
